Aiolos Forecast Studio 12.1

We’re excited to introduce our latest software release. Key improvements include a brand new Aiolos
API, optional significant performance boosters for Follow up, Indata, Forecasting and Aggregations.
Additionally we've integrated new features like Follow Up and Home Warnings Filtering, ensuring you
can better analyze and prioritize critical data. This release marks the birth of Battery Optimization in
Aiolos to let you seamlessly optimize charging and discharging of batteries. Below follows the news in
abbreviated form but see also our Educandi-session on the topic. Over 900 updates have been
implemented to elevate your experience.

HIGHLIGHTS

🚀 Aiolos API: We have built a modern API that will ensure fast, secure and flexible
transfers of data. We have also integrated Aiolos to customers’ EDM systems through
their API with a direct connection from Aiolos.

🚀 Follow up performance boost: Follow up performance increase of 10 times as fast by switching to the expanded Homelive follow up system, which now has support for multiple models, multiple weather, automatic weighting, etc. This is optionally activated by changing the Extract in Follow up to using Homelive files instead of .prog files.

🚀 Indata control performance boost: We've enhanced the performance of Indata control by optimizing how warnings can be stored. This is optionally activated by two settings in File-System Settings. The first one trims previous identical warnings, and the other one groups warnings that are coherent in time.  This significantly reduces the storage space, which gives you a faster Indata with the possibility to store a longer history period. This update is particularly beneficial for configurations with extensive use of Indata.

🚀 PreAggregations performance boost: Calculate measured data for Aggregated series in advance to give a super quick history for Aggregated series when needed. Calculations are made at import or when viewed for the first time. The feature handles changes of data for sub nodes and portfolio changes, to make sure presented Aggregations are always updated to the current situation.

🚀 Continuous forecasts performance boost: Calculate forecasts in advance to give a quick response when needed. Settings can be made of what invalidates a forecast such as new weather data, new measured data, time or combination of the previous. The system also handles portfolios changes, to always be in sync and give you an accurate forecast of the current situation.

Home warnings filtering: Get a grip of the warnings in Aiolos by using the new filtering
function to view and filter the most important warnings collectively.

Follow up data filtering: Analyze your data effectively by filtering out weekday and
time of the day to separately view that data.

Battery optimization: The birth of Battery optimization in Aiolos has been made.

Battery optimization

The birth of Battery optimization in Aiolos has been made. The
aim is that Batteries could be connected to multiple sources of charging and discharging
units (such as Wind power, Solar power etc), be connected to multiple markets
(dayahead, intraday and regulation markets). Next step to continue the development in
Aiolos is to collaborate with you and your specific battery cases, so get in touch with us
to see if we can help you with your batteries

already existing relative today), to steer period to evaluate.

• New Action: Replace with comparison series for the whole day
as a complement to individual time steps.

• New setting of Max number of rows in StatusDB to
automatically trim to reasonable size.

• Increased restrictions for user type “Guest” to now not being
able to access the Indata tab.

• Added steering possibility after Urgency type of which Indata rules that should be run if not
all, at import e.g. [/importindatalevel:high] or at batch run e.g. [/indatalevel:high].

HOME and VIEW

• Original history + Data flags available in Follow up and Home.

more HOME and VIEW

• New shortcut to Models from model weighting
window.

place that renders a warning.

• Better disabling of messages from Data check
during form closure.

• Search for Forecast series ID now available in Series
tree.

• On/Off multidrag smoothing from right click in
Diagram.

• Increased restrictions for user type “Guest”
regarding modifications of View templates.

• Home warnings filtering: Get a grip of the warnings
in Aiolos by using the new filtering function to view
and filter the most important warnings collectively.

• PreAggregations: Create PreAggregations when an
Autofinder calculation is triggered in Indata to
collect the latest data for Aggregated series.

• PreAggregations: Even better performance by recalculating the updated period instead of all
periods.

• PreFetch: Now supports a scattered checked list, so it fetches data for the next checked se

FOLLOW UP

•    Follow up on Homelive files for faster Follow up result. Now supports evaluation of multiple models, multiple weather, unadjusted/exported, automatic model weighting optimization, etc.

•    Increased performance for evaluating multiple models by displaying weather from 1 model to save performance and not show redundant information.

•    Original history + Data flags available in Follow up and Home.

•    Stored Homelive files are now identified by Forecast series ID instead of Name, which makes change of Forecast series names easier when it comes to keeping your Follow up data.

•    New shortcut to Models from model weighting window.

•    Startup selection for template to select alternative Models.

•    Search for Forecast series ID now available in Series tree.

•    Setting of least amount of available data for automatic optimization, to avoid weighting models with missing data in the evaluation period. Default: Count% >75, configurable in Model weight settings in Follow up.

•    Current weights when doing a follow up model optimization now supports advanced regimes.

•    Improved automatic Model weighting optimization with the integrated Model Weighter Waiter, especially for series with a big number of series to optimize between.
